Our Mascot hub covers the Sydney basin, but it is worth being straight about where the work actually is. Most of our Sydney installs are in Macarthur, Wollondilly, Camden and the Sutherland Shire rather than the inner suburbs. Detached housing, bigger blocks and simpler roof planes are why: a Camden or Engadine roof will take a system large enough to be worth the outlay, and a terrace in Newtown very often will not.
The network boundary runs through the middle of this. Ausgrid covers the eastern basin, the inner suburbs and the Shire; Endeavour Energy covers Macarthur, Wollondilly, Camden and the south west. Their export limits and approval timelines are different, and on anything above a small system that difference decides whether a design works. We confirm which one applies before quoting rather than after the application comes back.
The two halves of the region also bring different jobs. The new estates around Oran Park, Gledswood Hills, Harrington Park and Wilton have tight roof planes, dark tile and developer covenants to work around. The older stock through Picton, Thirlmere and Tahmoor more often needs a switchboard upgrade before anything goes on the roof, which is better found at the site visit than on install day.
We assign the certificates and lodge the scheme paperwork, so any discount you qualify for is already in the price you are quoted.
