What you can hold us to.
As a NETCC Approved Seller we work to an industry code of conduct. But the commitments that matter most to customers are the ones about who turns up and who picks up the phone afterwards.
The commitments that actually matter
As a NETCC Approved Seller we work to an industry code of conduct. That is the floor, not the ceiling.
The New Energy Tech Consumer Code sets standards for how solar and battery systems are sold in Australia: honest marketing, clear contracts, cooling-off periods, proper complaint handling. Being an Approved Seller means we have signed up to be held to those standards and audited against them.
It is worth knowing what that does and does not cover. The code governs how a company sells. It does not govern how well the job is installed, who turns up, or whether anybody answers the phone in eighteen months. Those are the parts customers actually feel, so those are the parts we put in writing below.
What we commit to
-
We will tell you if you should not buy
If your roof is too shaded, if you are moving next year, or if a smaller system serves you better, we will say so. A quote we talk you out of costs us far less than a customer who feels sold to.
-
The quote includes every rebate you qualify for
STCs assigned, federal battery funding applied, and state scheme paperwork lodged by us. No discovering later that a discount you were shown had conditions attached.
-
We handle the grid paperwork
Connection application, network approval and metering coordination. You sign, we lodge.
-
Aftercare stays in Australia
Our support team is 100% Australian based and looks after your system for the long term. When you ring about a fault years from now, you are talking to someone here who can see your install record.
-
We only carry brands with an Australian presence
A ten year warranty is only worth what the company behind it is worth. If a manufacturer cannot support a claim locally, we do not install their product.
What that looks like on the day
Accreditation, in plain terms
The acronyms in this industry are genuinely confusing, and some companies rely on that. Here is what ours mean.
NETCC Approved Seller
This applies to the company. It means Clean Power Australia has been approved under the New Energy Tech Consumer Code, covering how we advertise, quote, contract and handle complaints.
SAA accredited installers
This applies to the people. Solar Accreditation Australia took over installer accreditation from the Clean Energy Council on 29 May 2024. It is an individual qualification, and it is a condition of your system qualifying for STC rebates.
Why the distinction matters
NETCC is a company mark, SAA is an individual one. A company can use SAA accredited installers without being a NETCC Approved Seller, and the reverse is possible too. We hold both. If a competitor still advertises “CEC accredited”, that terminology has been out of date since 2024.

Installs by SAA accredited installersQuestions worth asking any installer
Can you give me the installer’s SAA accreditation number?
You are entitled to ask, and you can verify it on the SAA public register. If a company will not give you a number, or still talks about “CEC accreditation”, that tells you something.
Does the brand you are quoting have an Australian office?
If not, a warranty claim means shipping equipment overseas at your expense, or discovering the distributor has moved on. Every brand we install has a local presence.
Who lodges the grid connection application?
It should be the installer. If a company expects you to do it, that tells you something about how much of the job they consider theirs.
What happens if the system underperforms?
Ask for the process in writing, not a reassurance. Our support team handles monitoring and performance claims directly and is not part of the sales function.
