Good to know before you buy
The practical details worth checking on any AlphaESS quote.
-
Warranty terms by model
Current AlphaESS warranties run ten years, with performance cover tied to an energy throughput limit. Terms vary by model and installation date, so we go through them for the exact system we quote.
-
The exact model
There are a lot of SMILE models, and the names change between generations. Your quote should name the exact inverter and battery, and both should be on the Clean Energy Council approved list.
-
Backup output
Backup output varies between models. If running air conditioning or a pool pump in an outage matters to you, ask for the backup rating of the specific system.
-
Support after install
We hold your install record and serial numbers, and lodge any warranty claim on your behalf, so you call us rather than the manufacturer.

What the federal rebate is worth on an AlphaESS battery
The Cheaper Home Batteries discount is calculated on usable capacity, so the amount depends on the AlphaESS model. These are the bands at the May to December 2026 rate of 6.8 certificates per kWh, at $37 to $40 a certificate. Your quote shows the exact amount.
The first 14 kWh
Full rate: about 6.8 certificates per kWh, roughly $250 to $270 off for every kWh of usable capacity.
14 to 28 kWh
Capacity in this band earns 60% of the rate, roughly $150 to $165 per kWh.
From 1 January 2027
The rate drops to 5.7 certificates per kWh, about 16% less. It is set by your installation date, not your order date. How the federal battery rebate works.

The discount depends on the exact model, so the figure worth knowing is the one on your own quote.
