    Full-coverage temperature detection, BMS control of over-temperature, over-current and over-voltage, a built-in DC breaker, an internal aerosol extinguisher and a decompression valve. The extinguisher is normally a commercial-system feature.

The B14400-H is a high-voltage battery, so it pairs with a Hinen hybrid inverter matched to your phase and your solar size. For a new solar and battery system we quote the two together. For an existing system we check your inverter first, and tell you if it needs replacing or pairing with a hybrid unit.

Whole-home backup is available. It needs a backup gateway wired into your switchboard, which we quote as part of the design rather than leave you to discover during the first outage.

What the federal rebate is worth on a Hinen battery

The Cheaper Home Batteries discount is calculated on usable capacity and comes straight off our quote. These figures use the May to December 2026 rate of 6.8 certificates per kWh, at a certificate value of $37 to $40. Your quote shows the exact amount for your installation date.

One B14400-H, 13.68 kWh usable

93 certificates, roughly $3,400 to $3,700 off. The whole battery sits inside the first 14 kWh band, which attracts the full rate.

Two B14400-H, 27.36 kWh usable

149 certificates, roughly $5,500 to $6,000 off. Capacity above 14 kWh earns 60% of the rate.

From 1 January 2027

Who makes Hinen

Hinen New Energy was set up in 2022 as the residential storage arm of Hinen Group (ANFU CE LINK), an electronics manufacturer founded in 2004 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange under code 300787. The group designs and builds its own battery management systems, packs, inverters and storage batteries rather than badging someone else’s, across seven production centres in China and Vietnam.

The company reports more than 500 research and development staff, over 150 patents, and more than $20 million a year in research spending. Its test laboratory holds SGS accreditation and a TÜV NORD witness laboratory certificate, and production runs under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

In Australia, Hinen Australia Pty Ltd operates from North Sydney, is a member of the Smart Energy Council and the Clean Energy Council, and supplies through local distributors including Powow. Warranty claims are handled here rather than offshore.

Is Hinen a good battery?

For most households, yes. It uses lithium iron phosphate cells, carries five layers of protection including an internal fire extinguisher, and is backed by a 12 year warranty from a listed manufacturer with an Australian office. Where it differs from a premium system like Sigenergy is integration: Hinen pairs a battery with a separate hybrid inverter, while SigenStor builds the inverter, battery and EV charging into one stack. If you want the core job done well at a lower price, Hinen is the one we suggest.

Will a Hinen battery run my home in a blackout?

With a backup gateway, yes. The battery on its own shuts down with the grid for safety, so whole-home backup needs the gateway wired into your switchboard. We quote it as part of the design and test it with a simulated outage on install day.

Is the Hinen B14400-H eligible for the federal battery rebate?

Yes. It is on the Clean Energy Council approved battery list, it is VPP capable, and at 13.68 kWh usable it sits entirely inside the first 14 kWh band that attracts the full rebate rate. We apply the discount on your quote and handle the certificate paperwork.

Can I add more Hinen capacity later?

Yes. Up to five B14400-H units can run in parallel on one inverter, for 72 kWh. Bear in mind the federal rebate can only be claimed once per property, so it pays to size the system properly the first time.
