Privacy policy
About this policy

We do not set out to collect sensitive information such as health information. If you tell us that someone at the property relies on life support equipment, we record that fact only, so we can give you the right safety information about your battery. We do not record medical details.
Card payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.

Overseas disclosure
Some of the service providers we use, such as our business software, communications, website, advertising and analytics providers, store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States, the European Union, Indonesia and India.
Before we disclose information overseas we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient protects it in line with the APPs, usually through the provider’s contract terms.
Marketing
We send marketing by email, text message, mail or phone where you have agreed to it, or where we can reasonably infer you would expect it, for example because you have enquired with us or are an existing customer. We may call you if you respond to one of our messages.
Every marketing email and text includes a way to unsubscribe, and we act on it within 5 working days. Unsubscribing applies to the channel you unsubscribe from. To stop all marketing from us, contact us and we will update every channel.
Call recording
We record all phone calls made and received through our phone system, for quality, training, record keeping and resolving complaints. We tell you at the start of every call that it is being recorded. If you would rather not be recorded, tell us and we will arrange another way to help you.
Cookies, tracking and advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies from analytics and advertising providers such as Google, Meta and Microsoft. These collect information such as your IP address, device, the pages you visit, how you use them and how you got to our site. We use this to improve our website, measure our advertising and show you our ads on other sites and apps.
We may share limited information, such as contact details in hashed (scrambled) form, with advertising platforms to measure our ads and tailor who sees them.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser, manage ad preferences in your Google, Facebook or Instagram settings, and contact us to ask that your details not be used for advertising.
AI and automated decisions
Our staff use AI tools to help prepare documents, analyse information and review calls for quality and training.
Some of our systems make decisions automatically. They use your contact and enquiry details to route your enquiry and send reminders, your address to prepare parts of your quote, and website and ad data to decide which of our ads you see. Our staff are responsible for the quote you receive. Finance applications are assessed by the finance provider under its own policies.
Security
We store personal information electronically in secure cloud systems. Access is limited to staff and contractors who need it for their role, protected by access controls, and removed when they leave. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep customer records for at least 7 years after installation, to support warranties and meet tax and regulatory requirements. We keep call recordings and messages for as long as we need them for quality, training and resolving complaints. We keep details of enquiries that do not go ahead so we can keep you informed about new products, services and offers over time, including through our mailing list, unless you ask us to stop contacting you or to delete your details. When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge to make a request. If we decline, we will tell you why in writing and how to complain.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer using the details below. We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
